Decode Genetics

The new building for DeCode Genetics was a big step for Eykt. The task was to deliver a fully equipped and specialised research and office space along with a car park in a very short time. But only 11 months passed from the initial groundbreaking to the date the building was commissioned into service.

The building is rather large, about 15,000 m², and had to meet a variety of specific research demands. Eykt was the primary contractor on the project and was responsible for concreting, HVAC and all the interior and exterior workmanship, as well as running the camp for the whole project. The project commenced in February 2001, and DeCode started moving into the building in December of that same year.
